History in short

Apptus Technologies could be said to have been born out of the academic centre of excellence Lund University, ranked among the top 100 universities in the world and internationally recognised for its leading research activities.

Sweden is well known for mathematical expertise and many Apptus employees obtained PHD’s and Doctorates at Lund and continue their leading edge mathematical and algorithmic development at Apptus.

Since 2000 Apptus has been using this knowledge to develop and innovate at the cutting edge of high performance database, search, navigation and online behavioural research.

Founders

Apptus was founded by Michael Mokhberi and Patrick Wåhlin  (who of course both received Masters Degrees in Computer Science from Lund University) and they started working “solving problems for their customers”. This work has lead to the development of a suite of products that are now helping online ecommerce and directory customers grow their own businesses.

Today both Michael and Patrick are still actively involved in understanding the needs of customers and working with them on a day to day basis pioneering the developments and helping add to the competitive edge that online companies demand in the strive for market share and increased revenues through the use of leading edge technology.

Investors

Although fortunate to have been profitable since inception Apptus also has the advantage of the support of Innovationskapital a leading early stage venture capital firm for innovative growth companies in Scandinavia.

Innovationskapital is focused on Nordic investments within ICT, Healthcare & Life Sciences and Clean Tech – dynamic sectors that are rapidly expanding and where Nordic research plays an important role. InnovationsKapital currently advises four venture funds aggregating EUR 320 million in committed capital. The capital is provided by international institutional investors.
