Apptus’s lightning-fast maps popular on Web

Apptus Technologies has developed a new module for the directory market that can be plugged into existing platforms. The module is called Theca Applied Geometry (TAG) and provides faster search functions for maps. The search function responds lightning fast to questions of the type, “where is the closest …?” based on a given position, and displays the selected points of interest/businesses on an arbitrary map.

Apptus recognizes map searching as a very common and popular way of searching for information that has the potential to significantly increase directory customers’ traffic.

“A map search only takes a few milliseconds with the new solution,” says Ulf Stål, VP of Sales & Marketing at Apptus Technologies. “Implementation for hitta.se only took a few days and produced a significant improvement in performance.”

“Availability, performance and user friendly functionality are the guiding stars for hitta.se,” says Rui Brites de Sousa, CEO for hitta.se. “Apptus is a skilled technology supplier and we are very happy with the search platform they delivered.”

hitta.se is one of Sweden’s largest online directory services, with contact information, addresses and maps for all of Sweden’s businesses, as well as individuals. hitta.se is Sweden’s fourth largest website with over 2.1 unique visitors each week.
