Leading an advisory board with focus on sales, channel and business development, Schoutissen will help Apptus capitalise on demand for automated merchandising solutions.

November 2016, London/Lund/Munich: Apptus, the eCommerce personalisation and online merchandising automation specialist, has reached an agreement that will see respected industry veteran and former senior vice president at Hybris, Frank Schoutissen join its senior team.

Schoutissen will lead a European sales strategy that spans channel and business development as well as international expansion – and joins at a time when retail industry interest in solutions able to both automate and optimise online merchandising is growing fast.

He explained: “Retailers are now realising that relying on manual merchandising across huge product catalogues is simply not practical nor cost efficient.  They increasingly want solutions that automate the heavy lifting; which free merchandisers from mundane, spreadsheet-driven tasks and enable them to focus on high-level strategy.

“Apptus eSales provides all those capabilities and more.  It is enabling retailers to take a different approach to merchandising, which is more effective and more cost efficient.  That is why this is such an exciting time to team up with a business like Apptus.”

Schoutissen has a long track record in the eCommerce sector, having previously held senior roles at companies including WebTrekk GmbH, Baan, Toptier (now SAP), Information Builders, Sybase (now SAP) and OneView Commerce.

He is perhaps best known for his time at Hybris, where he grew the Hybris partner ecosystem grew from 15 partners in 2007 to 450 in 2014, and partner services revenue shot up from less than €5 million to €1.2 billion over the same period.

Commenting on the appointment, Apptus CEO, Michael Mokhberi said: “I’m delighted that Frank has agreed to work with the team at Apptus. He brings huge experience and a wealth of industry contacts to the role at a time when automation is an increasingly hot topic in retail boardrooms.

“eSales’ intelligent automation is already helping forward-thinking retailers to transform merchandising performance and I am confident Frank will play a big role in helping us to press home that advantage.”
