November 2016, London/Lund/Munich: Apptus, the eCommerce personalisation and online merchandising automation specialist, has reached an agreement that will see respected industry veteran and former senior vice president at Hybris, Frank Schoutissen join its senior team.
Schoutissen will lead a European sales strategy that spans channel and business development as well as international expansion – and joins at a time when retail industry interest in solutions able to both automate and optimise online merchandising is growing fast.
He explained: “Retailers are now realising that relying on manual merchandising across huge product catalogues is simply not practical nor cost efficient. They increasingly want solutions that automate the heavy lifting; which free merchandisers from mundane, spreadsheet-driven tasks and enable them to focus on high-level strategy.

Schoutissen has a long track record in the eCommerce sector, having previously held senior roles at companies including WebTrekk GmbH, Baan, Toptier (now SAP), Information Builders, Sybase (now SAP) and OneView Commerce.
He is perhaps best known for his time at Hybris, where he grew the Hybris partner ecosystem grew from 15 partners in 2007 to 450 in 2014, and partner services revenue shot up from less than €5 million to €1.2 billion over the same period.
