2) Search application programming is based on a declarative approach to data retrieval, rather than the traditional/imperative model. This simply tells the system what to
do, then lets it work out the best way to it. In the traditional model, resources are wasted telling the system how to organize data and to implement in code the search logic. The declarative approach allows Theca to optimise data structures and applied algorithms to push functionality limits beyond what traditional data management platforms can manage.

Because of the efficiencies it creates, Theca minimizes the expenses for implementation, integration and hardware use that are common with other systems.
