The leading e-commerce group CDON continues to strengthen its search optimisation with Apptus

CDON Group and Apptus continue their decade-long co-operation with a new multi-million three-year contract extension. CDON Group is the largest e-trading group in all e-commerce segments in the Nordics.

The Swedish company Apptus Technologies has developed a technology for e-retailers which instantly maps consumer buying and navigation patterns in real time. The self-learning algorithm interprets the user’s needs and suggests products that fit, before the consumer even formulates the request – making the purchasing process more efficient. The user's search behaviour is also recorded until the next visit to the site.

Over half a million unique visitors are assisted every day by Apptus eSales search, navigation and recommendation features. At the beginning of the co-operation in 2001, CDON noticed a marked increase in orders and sales - thanks to eSales’ smart features.

"Apptus has the strongest technology on the market where eSales’ smart features fit our needs in search technology and item management," says Christofer Gordon, Chief Technological Officer at CDON Group. "We strongly believe in mapping the user's search behaviour dynamically, instead of pigeonholing visitors into predetermined categories. With eSales’ self-learning algorithm, we capture the search patterns of each individual visitor on the site and become more accurate in terms of relevance."

CDON Group is the leader in all e-commerce segments on the Nordic market and has a clear ambition to be at the forefront of technological development. Its future aim is to establish itself as a leading player in the European market. The general agreement with Apptus concerns the sites CDON, BookPlus, Gymgrossisten, Bodystore, Fitnesstukku, Nelly, LinusLotta, Heppo, Lekmer, Tretti and Rum21.

"Apptus eSales analyse customers’ buying patterns and behaviour in real time in order to give every visitor as relevant recommendations as possible," says Michael Mokhberi, CEO at Apptus.

"Apptus eSales is based on a self-learning technology that analyses the outcome of behaviours and learns from each and every user interaction. CDON Group can therefore better interpret and understand each user's intention, and anticipate what they will ask for next. This increases the relevance of all customer interactions with more satisfied customers and increases sales as a result. With Apptus eSales, visitors will be able to access the same high level of expertise and relevant interaction in the web shop as they will receive in a traditional store," adds Michael Mokhberi.
